Nightbristle Self-Sweeping Broom
Stands with no stand. Sweeps with no hand. Reacts to touch and sound, then goes quiet again — which is somehow worse.
This is a seasonal run. Once the Halloween stock is gone it doesn't come back until next October. Last dispatch for guaranteed 31 Oct arrival: 27 October.
You're not buying decor. You're buying the face they pull.
Mum walks in at 11pm
She turns the hall light off. Something behind her starts sweeping. She has forgotten it exists — for the fourth night running.
Kids dare each other
They creep up, touch the handle, and sprint. Then they come back. Then they bring their friends. It becomes the thing they show people.
The party stops
Someone laughs too loud, the broom hears it and starts. Six phones come out at once. That clip does the rest.
It doesn't need you.
Touch it and it wakes
A tap on the handle starts the sweeping motion. Kids will test this roughly a hundred times an evening.
Or just make a noise
Sound activation means a doorbell, a laugh or a footstep sets it off on its own. Nobody has to be near it.
Green light from inside the bristles
LEDs sit inside the straw and along the handle, so the glow comes out through the gaps instead of pointing at you. In a dark hallway it reads as floating.
One broom.
Three different frights.
Sixty seconds from box to scream.
Add batteries
Open the panel at the back of the bristles and drop in 3x AA. One small screwdriver, one minute.
Switch it on
Flick the switch beside the battery door. That's the whole setup — no app, no pairing, no charging cable.
Walk away
Stand it up somewhere with a bit of space around it, then go and do something else. It handles the rest.
Position matters more than anything else.
Just inside the front door
Trick-or-treaters see it the second the door opens. Sound-activated, so the doorbell does the work.
End of a dark hallway
The best one. All anyone sees is a green glow and movement — the shape only resolves as they get closer.
Corner of the party
Away from the speakers so it triggers on voices, not bass. It'll go off all night by itself.
Someone's bedroom
Not our idea. But it is what a worrying number of customers tell us they did.

Mostly about someone screaming.
Put it at the end of the landing. My husband came out of the bathroom at midnight and I heard a noise I have never heard him make before. Worth it for that alone.
Verified buyerBought it for the kids, ended up being the adults who wouldn't leave it alone. My brother filmed my mum's reaction and it's been sent round the family group chat about forty times.
Verified buyerReally good and the green light is much brighter than I expected. Only note — batteries aren't in the box so check you've got AAs in before the kids get home.
Verified buyerRun a small pub. Stood it by the fire exit for the Halloween weekend. It went off every time someone laughed. Best decoration I've bought, and I've bought a lot of rubbish over the years.
Verified buyerMy 7yo is scared of it and also refuses to let me put it away. Both things at once. She shows it to every single person who comes to the door.
Verified buyerBent the handle right over into a hook shape. In the dark it genuinely looks like someone is stood there holding it. Nobody in my house walks past it without checking now.
Verified buyerSturdier than the photos suggest. Stood upright on carpet with no problem all week. Wobbled a bit on the uneven bit of the porch so I moved it inside the door instead — fine after that.
Verified buyerOrdered two. One by the door, one in the kitchen. The kitchen one is the problem because you forget it's there while you're making a cup of tea.
Verified buyerStraight answers.
Does it actually float?
No — and we'd rather say so now than have you disappointed at the door. It stands upright on its own bristles with no stand, wire or wall fixing, and because the glow comes from inside the straw, in a dim room the base disappears and it reads as hovering. That's the effect. It is not magnetic levitation.
How does it start moving on its own?
Two triggers. A touch on the handle, or a sound nearby — a doorbell, a laugh, footsteps. It runs its sweeping motion, then settles. Nobody needs a remote.
Is it safe around young children?
There are no blades, no heat and no mains cable — it runs on 3x AA batteries and the battery compartment is screw-secured. It's still a decoration rather than a toy, so keep an eye on under-3s who might pull at the straw.
Can I leave it outside?
Covered porches and doorways are fine. Don't leave it out in rain or overnight damp — the electronics and the natural straw won't thank you for it. Bring it in with the pumpkins.
How big is it?
Roughly 76 cm from the top of the handle to the bristle tips, with a bristle spread of about 25 cm. Big enough to read as a real broom from across a room, small enough to stand in a hallway without getting in the way.
Are batteries included?
No — 3x AA, not supplied. Have them ready before Halloween night. It's the single most common thing people wish they'd checked.
Will it arrive before Halloween?
UK orders placed by 27 October are dispatched in time for 31 October. Free delivery on orders over £35. Not what you expected? 30 days to send it back.
Put it in the hallway. Say nothing.
The best reaction is the one nobody was warned about. Order by 27 October and you'll have it standing there in time.
